'The Life and Legacy of George Boole' is an interactive exhibition in the UCC Library as part of a series of events to celebrate the bicentenary of George Boole (1815-1864), first Professor of Mathematics at Unviersity College Cork. This historical exhibition puts the Boole Papers on display for the first time ever, bringing together archival material from our special collections with papers from the Royal Society, London.
Conceived and created in collaboration with a number of individuals and groups who have been working on George Boole 200 projects, this exhibition would not have been possible without the hard work by UCC Library and project staff, as well as staff at the University of Lincoln where a concurrent exhibition is being held through the efforts of the Lincoln Exhibition Organising Committee, Lincolnshire County Council (Lincs to the Past) and The Royal Society, London. Many thanks to our generous donors and in particular our enabling partners Lincoln University and the London Mathematical Society.
