George Boole 200 welcomes Finetuned Limited to deliver a series of walks titled "Between the Sheets".

Using one of Boole's walking routes, 'Between the Sheets' employs family and local history to provide a glimpse into the lives of the family; before, during and after the events leading up to George's sad demise. This bicentenial year, University College Cork pays tribute to its first Professor of Mathematics, George Boole (1815-1864).

"Roads are a record of those who have gone before, and to follow them is to follow people who are no longer there" - Rebecca Solnit.

Between the Sheets is researched, developed and produced by Finetuned Limited; a creative, curatorial and technical company focused on interdisciplinary research, practice and curated projects. The walks are led by Finetuned Director, Julian Weaver who has worked cross-sector in business, cultural industries and the arts since the early 1990s. With a background in fine art and music, he was an early adopter of web and interactive media technologies; building his first web site in 1992 and exhibiting work across new media festival from 1995 onwards. Working at the cutting edge of technology saw him freelance for various award-winning companies before working with a broad range of research institutions, artists, galleries, micro-enterprises and corporates. He co-founded Finetuned as a curatorial platform in 2005 and expanded its remit in 2010 to incorporate a broader range of outputs.

Please Note:

The walk is approximately 3.4 miles (5.5km) and it will most likely be very cold and quite possibly raining. It thus may not be suitable for children. Please dress warmly, bring an umbrella and a hot drink to keep you warm during the walk.
