George Boole, the first Professor of Mathematics in Queens College Cork (now University College Cork) is paying a visit to the BT Young Scientist Exhibition this weekend.
The eminent mathematics professor, played by actor Leonard Connolly, is eager to discover how his theories and symbolic logic have been put to use by the young students. The Professor is bound to be amazed by all of the projects on display. Although the students have a busy day Professor Boole is hoping to meet with as many students as possible. He is encouraging all at the exhibition to get a ‘selfie’ with him and post on Facebook or tweet with the hashtag #ImAGenius for the chance to win a special *genius tee shirt.
Professor Boole will also be visiting the University College Cork stand (Number 17) to sample the Insight Centre for Data Analytics domino application. All who visit can have their image converted into a domino portrait that they can take away.
With 550 projects on display the 51st BT Young Scientist Exhibition looks like the place to be this weekend.
