The UCC Visitors' Centre is delighted to announce the return of the hugely enjoyable, historical and interactive George Boole Walking Tour.
There are many experts on George Boole, but who better than the man himself to bring the past to life and transport you to 1849? Boole will guide you through the history of UCC and outline his relationship with the college.
Hear George explain why he came to Cork, talk about his time here and his influence, not only on the university, but also on the scientific community worldwide.
The tour involves a visit to the beautiful Boole stained glass window in UCC's Aula Maxima, the Ogam Stone Corridor and the wonderful Honan Chapel. Your journey through Boole's legacy will come to an end at the newly-refurbished Crawford Observatory which is now open to the public.
"What an excellent initiative! The tour was not alone informative and interesting but also had some surprise elements" - Vincent, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, a Division of Janssen Pharmaceutical, Little Island, Co. Cork, Ireland.
"The scripts that you wrote deserve as much credit as the dramatic re-enactments. We learned so much." Dorothy, Project Leader, Arts Health Antigonish AHA
